This place was absolutely mind-blowing! The building was so attractive and the location couldn't be better. The kitchen was super well-equipped and we loved having free parking. The sea views from the mezzanine were jaw-dropping and we enjoyed walks on the coastal path with our dogs. The interior was spacious and full of character, with a flat-screen TV for entertainment. It was a relief to find that pets were allowed and the whole place was smoke-free. We were also impressed with the soft bath towels and the cleanliness of the property. The host even accommodated our special requests. An overall fantastic experience!

The building has charming wooden beams, character furniture, and great views of Weymouth Bay and Portland Bill. Comfy sofas, a well-equipped kitchen, and large beds provide a comfortable stay. The property is cleaned to a good standard. The location is perfect for exploring coastal Dorset, with the nearby village of Preston offering Fish N Chips and groceries. The gardens around the house are lovely, and there is a short walk down to the SW coastal path. The host, Peter, keeps guests well informed and provides accurate directions to the property.

The fixtures and fittings in the cottage were not well maintained, which made our stay quite challenging. There was no place to dry our laundry or beachwear, and when we requested some provision, the owner did not respond or take any action.

We had an incredible last-minute stay at a stunning cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage itself was beautifully designed, both inside and out, with meticulous attention to detail. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm and comfortable atmosphere, equipped with everything we needed for a perfect stay. Even our four-legged companion was well catered for, with a provided dog bed. The cottage's location offered great views of the sea from upstairs, and it was a great spot for enjoying walks and the beach. The comfortable sofas and well-equipped kitchen were additional highlights. The host's directions and parking arrangements were also excellent.

There were some drawbacks during our stay. the shower in the wet room bathroom had a broken shower head, which was reported but not attended to.

I was pleasantly surprised by the provision of a dog bed for our furry friend, which showed great thoughtfulness. Despite a couple of minor drawbacks, I would highly recommend this cottage for a perfect stay in a great location. I had a wonderful experience at Shortlake Cottage.
